Vogue World London Kicks off London Fashion Week

On September 14th, Vogue World is back to kick off London Fashion Week. The “fashion fantasia” is inspired this year by an opening night in the West End, and will highlight British culture and fashion through opera, theater, pop music, and a runway show highlighting 2023 pieces. With many celebrities and show-stopping performers, Vogue World London is expected to be an exceptional night following last year’s Vogue World New York. 

In relation to this course, Vogue World is a campaign working to get the fashion industry excited for London Fashion Week and all of the events that will follow throughout the week. Most importantly however, its main goal is to make a stand for London’s future, as the arts in the UK have continued to struggle since the pandemic. They will have the ticket proceeds benefited to a multitude of organizations throughout London such as the Royal Opera House and the Royal Ballet. 

If I were the PR strategist for Vogue, I would be doing everything in my power to spread awareness of what Vogue World is. Last year, this event broke the internet, and many were confused as to what it was. I would be utilizing social media to explain Vogue World, and the goals behind it. It is important for the audience to understand why Vogue World is taking place in London, and what they can do to contribute to the arts there. These organizations are getting incredible coverage from Vogue, as there are many well-known celebrities and special guests who will be making appearances. Vogue should be photographing and live-streaming the entire event, so that coverage goes far beyond those attending in person. 

I would also include a livestream for the event, where access would be paid for and that is another form of money going towards the arts. I believe they should be taking the time to highlight all of the different organizations that are participating in Vogue World and how they will benefit from the donations. With the livestream, you can make online donations and watch the live feed from the comfort of your own home. This would be incredibly rewarding for Vogue and the organizations they are donating to as many people will tune in from all over the world to watch Vogue World. 

This is an incredibly positive event, and it shows that Vogue cares about the arts globally and is willing to do anything they can to help. Many heads will be turning to see what Anna Wintour and her remarkable team come up with to top last year’s stunning set up.
